The Clean Energy Cafés are immersive, five-day in-person events designed for students (BA, MA, Ph.D.) and academic staff to explore the critical intersection of clean energy and disinformation. Held across Romania, Malta, and Spain, these sessions offer a unique platform to collaborate, engage in hands-on activities, and tackle real-world challenges in sustainability and communication.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities, gaining essential skills to critically analyze and debunk misinformation while crafting impactful strategies to communicate clean energy solutions. As part of these sessions, you will also have the chance to earn a certification of participation and the prestigious Clean Energy Disinformation Analyst badge, which highlights your expertise in combating disinformation and advancing sustainable practices. This badge is aligned with key European frameworks, such as DigComp 2.2 and ESCO, showcasing your competence in digital literacy, communication, and content creation.

Participants of the Clean Energy Cafés have the unique opportunity to earn a certification of participation and the Clean Energy Disinformation Analyst badge, which formally recognises their acquired skills and contributions during the programme. This certification is designed to demonstrate your expertise in analysing misinformation, developing counter-narratives, and advocating for clean energy solutions.
Certification criteria
To obtain certification and the badge, participants must fulfil the following criteria:

Attendance: Attend at least 90% of the sessions in the five-day programme and participate in key events such as the Clean Energy Cafés and Living Labs to ensure full engagement with the content and activities.

Active participation and collaboration: Engage meaningfully in group discussions, collaborative tasks, and practical exercises, demonstrating the ability to apply the knowledge gained to real-life scenarios. Work effectively in interdisciplinary teams, integrating diverse perspectives to tackle clean energy challenges and create innovative solutions

Completion of practical exercises: Successfully complete all assigned practical exercises, including analysing misinformation, developing counter-arguments, and designing communication strategies for clean energy solutions. Participation in experiential scenarios and simulations is also required.

Knowledge assessment: Complete all required assessments, including initial and final evaluations, reflection tasks, and satisfaction questionnaires, to demonstrate understanding of key concepts such as media literacy, clean energy narratives, and disinformation strategies.
Recognition
The “Clean Energy Disinformation Analyst” certification and badge are based on European standards such as DigComp 2.2 and ESCO and emphasise your skills in the areas of digital competence, communication and content creation. The badge serves as a digital credential that can be shared on professional platforms such as LinkedIn and strengthens your academic and professional profile.

Explore how false narratives influence public perception and policy-making. Learn to identify the differences between disinformation, misinformation, and malinformation, and understand their societal and environmental impacts.
Day 2: Clean Energy Solutions
Discover the fundamentals of clean energy sources like solar, wind, bioenergy, and hydropower. Understand their vital role in reducing fossil fuel dependence and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Day 3: Disinformation narratives and strategies
