The POWER project (Prevention Of Weaponization and Enhancing Resilience against Security-related Disinformation on Clean Energy) officially started on 1 November 2024, marking the beginning of an ambitious initiative co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. This initiative aims to tackle the growing challenges posed by disinformation in the clean energy sector. By promoting informed, fact-based discussions, the project aims to strengthen societal resilience and contribute to the transition towards sustainable energy solutions.
The POWER project aims to facilitate the transition to clean energy by empowering individuals and communities with the tools to combat disinformation and promote energy literacy. Through research, education and community engagement, the project aims to engage a broad audience, including students, educators, policy makers and the general public. It will develop open educational resources and multimedia content to increase public understanding and awareness of clean energy issues while effectively combating misinformation.
This initiative is made possible through the collaboration of leading European institutions and organisations. The “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy (Romania) acts as project coordinator and contributes its expertise in the field of strategic resilience. University Rey Juan Carlos (Spain) plays a key role in promoting digital education and the development of innovative communication tools. The University of Malta (Malta) contributes its strengths in research and policy engagement, while Euro Comunic@re (Romania) contributes strategic communication expertise to ensure the effective dissemination of project results.
Over the next three years, the project will implement a series of high-impact activities, including interactive Clean Energy Cafés, Living Labs and the creation of dynamic learning modules. The POWER project is an important step towards a more sustainable and better informed society.
